“Bright Eyes in the Dark” is a romance drama based off of Er Dong Tu Zi‘s novel with the same title that translates into “Walking Through Fire for You.” Er Dong Tu Zi is the author of the recently released “Here We Meet Again” and the popular youth drama “Our Secret.” This time, the story revolves around a romance between a firefighter and a celebrity who encounter each other by chance several times before forming a connection during the firefighting documentary at Lin Lu Xiao’s fire station, where Nan Chu is one of the guests.
Huang Jing Yu, known for his roles in “Love Designer” and “Addicted,” portrays Lin Lu Xiao, a strict and dedicated firefighter who approaches his job with a deep passion for saving lives.
Zhang Jing Yi, known for her roles in “Lighter & Princess” and “Fall In Love,” portrays Nan Chu, a dancer and emerging celebrity. Five years ago, she was trapped in a fire and rescued by Lin Lu Xiao. This experience has instilled in Nan Chu a profound respect for firefighters and their heroic work.

Zhang Ling He portrays Lin Qi, the younger brother of the male protagonist, Lin Lu Xiao. Lin Qi is a talented violinist who has received numerous awards abroad, though he remains relatively unknown in his homeland. Upon returning, he joins an agency to arrange a recital. Lin Qi knows Nan Chu and are friends. During their time overseas, they got into a misunderstanding with Jiang Ge. His first appearance occurs in episode 4 when he contacts Nan Chu for a meet-up.
Wang Zi Qi plays Lou Ming Ye, an instructor at Beixun City Public Security Fire Brigade. He has differing viewpoints from Lin Lu Xiao regarding firefighting, prioritizing safety and considers Lin Lu Xiao’s training methods and materials outdated. Their confrontations have been ongoing since the first episode, and each of Lou Ming Ye’s subsequent appearances adds to the tension.
Zeng Ke Ni is the celebrity Yan Dai, who will participate in Jiang De’s documentary, “Flaming Youth.” Yan Dai makes her debut in episode 6 of the series.
